FASTTRAC! ADA Transit

Passengers who have challenges riding the FAST fixed route bus system, may
be eligible through the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to benefit from
FASTTRAC! services.  This origin to destination service is focused on safety,
reliability and service. Please call 910-433-1744 for more information.

FASTTRAC!

The specific criteria for determining who is eligible for Para-transit services are defined by the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). You must meet one of the following eligibility requirements:

  • You are unable, without special assistance, as a result of a physical or mental impairment, to get on, ride or get off an accessible vehicle in the public transit system

  • You need the assistance of a wheelchair lift or other boarding device and are able to get on, ride and get off an accessible vehicle, but such a vehicle is not available on the route when you are planning to travel

  • You have a specific impairment-related condition, which prevents you from traveling to or from a boarding location or stop on the transit system.

FASTTRAC! Transit Bus

All FASTTRAC! vehicles are wheelchair accessible and the cost for this service is $1.50 per trip.

Individuals interested in using the service must complete Part A of the Eligibility
Application. Individuals must have a licensed professional complete Part B of the application to certify their medical condition. We cannot process incomplete applications. You may call (910) 433-1748 to request an application form.

Interview

After the FASTTRAC!  Para-transit Supervisor receives your application, you will be contacted to schedule an assessment to determine your eligibility in more detail. Transportation to and from the interview will be provided if needed.

Decision

You may temporarily use FASTTRAC! services until you are notified of your eligibility by letter within 21 days after your interview. If you have questions or have not been contacted within 21 days of submitting your application, call FAST TRAC at (910) 433-1743. Hearing impaired persons can call (910) 433-1745 (TDD).

If you are eligible for FASTTRAC! services you will receive a certification letter and a Rider’s Guide with information about how to use the service. If it is determined that you are not eligible, you will receive information on the appeal process.
