One Day Pass users do not need transfers.  Riders who pay a fare with cash, who plan to use more than one bus will need a transfer. Here is how to use them:
  • As you board your first FAST Transit Bus, request a Transfer from the Operator as you pay your fare.
  • When you board a second FAST Transit Bus, insert your transfer into the fare box when you board the next bus.
  • Ask your Operator for assistance if you have any questions about transfers.
  • You must use your Transfer within two hours of receipt

Fare Box Instructions

Paying Cash:
If you plan to use cash, please have your exact fare ready when you board the bus. (Operators do not give change.)  Insert coins in the Coin Insertion Cup one at a time, or feed flat, unfolded bills into the Bill Insertion Slot. The Passenger Display will show the amount entered. Damaged and/or rejected coins will go to the Coin Return Cup and the bus operator will notify you. The fare box does not give “change”.

Using Your Pass:
When purchasing bus passes at the FAST Transfer Center, and it is the first time the pass is being used, insert the pass in the Electronic Fare Card slot (located at the top of the fare box) to activate the pass. If the pass has already been used, then swipe the activated card through the Swipe Reader in the direction of the arrow with the magnetic strip facing you.
